Blogs Over Coffee

Can I just get an Amen for coffee right now?? I mean, really. I love it so much. That was one of the biggest things I missed when I first got sick three years ago. I just recently went to the store and found a box of Pumpkin Spice Latte for the Keurig that comes with froth packets…like froth that starbucks gives you. Granted, their cups have the cute coffee collars but still…froth nonetheless and I got it on sale for a buck twenty-nine. An even bigger bonus! So, as I sit here writing this, I am awaiting that first warm sip I take. Maybe I’ll even get froth on my nose. Haha. Simple things amuse me. But can we get serious now. I am totally freaking out, like totally freaking. I have my novel complete. All twenty-eight chapters. It took me over a year to write and I finally finished it as I sat in the hotel room at the beach watching the waves kiss the sand. I have it submitted to Swoonreads.com. If you haven’t read it, please do. I poured my heart and soul out on it’s pages. It’s called Desires of the Heart. I am still waiting to hear if it has been selected yet. It’s been four months at the end of February. Traditional publishing takes forever but, I try to be patient. I will be honest however, my patience is growing thin. I am still hopeful though because there hasn’t been any selections as of yet from any of the books submitted. I walk into Barnes and Noble everytime we go to the mall and dream of my book being on it’s shelves. It’s really the only reason I go in there. It is my motivation to keep going. I also have two children’s stories that are on sale on Amazon.com. I have a series I would like to complete but I don’t have an illustrator so, blah. It just sits. I currently am on Chapter-Buzz which is this super fun site that me and several other great Authors write and do prompts and encourage one another. Wait…did I just call myself great? Anyways, I am working on my confidence. I’ll admit, it is a bit shaky. Great and my name together usually don’t go well. I’m just happy if I can get through the day without spilling something on my shirt or tripping on air. I’m just being real here. No one is perfect. I have my hair in a messy bun, (not a pretty one), no make-up on and my biggest accomplishment so far today, other than cleaning the house, grocery shopping, taking the kids where they need to go and tying shoes, is being able to use the laptop to write and not my cell phone. It’s been awhile since I have posted on here but, what do you do when you have a busy household. I assure you it will be a lot sooner!! Here’s to a great night and an even greater cup of coffee!
