The Sweetest Gift

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms here on WordPress. You’re special, wanted, needed and beautiful. When you feel like you are losing your mind, know that it’s all worth it. I hope you all have a wonderful day on Sunday.

Today has been set aside to celebrate our mothers. We give them cards and gifts and flowers as a way of saying thank you for all they have done. Before you were even a consideration or a thought to your parents, you were far greater to God. He knew what your name would be, what you would look like, and whom he would entrust you too to help mold and shape you and bring you back to himself as you grew. Mothers spent many sleepless nights rocking you back to sleep and calming your fears of the dark, giving you the last piece of pie that they so desperately wanted, sacrificing all they have to ensure you have what you need. They help you learn and they hurt when you hurt, probably far worse.

They love unconditionally. Discipline, although needed, breaks their heart to do. The saying goes, this hurts me worse than it hurts you; which you’ll not understand unless you’re a parent. Mothers are a special gift to us and we should be ever thankful to the Lord for the ones he gave us. God hand-picked our mothers as he did Mary. Mary was pure, honest, obedient. He knew that he could entrust Jesus to her care and she would follow everything he said concerning him. As we take today to celebrate our moms, we should keep in mind that God gave her to you to care for you and love you. She does the very best that she can. She was hand-picked by God himself. You may not always agree with her decisions, but she is doing what she thinks is best concerning God’s will. We all think we have the best Mom ever and you know what, none of us are wrong. Outside of Salvation, the Love of our mothers is the Sweetest of Gifts.
