I must say, I always enjoy hanging out with my husband. This past time however, it was different, not in a bad way either. It was great. Not that all the other times weren’t, don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. Anyways, I’m talking in circles, I’ll go on. We went to dinner this past Monday evening. He got the rib eye and a salad and I got the chicken tenders with fries and rice pilaf, my favorite. As we sat there talking, I glanced out of the window. Across the street from Longhorn steakhouse is a furniture store called Grands Home Furnishings, you may have heard of it depending on where you live as you read this. I’m sure there are more locations than where we live. So I asked him while we ate if he would like to go over after we left and look around. Sure, he said, if you want to. So we finished our great dinner and conversation and headed across the street. We were greeted by a salesman and two glass bottles of coke. They offer those to everyone.
So as we enter, our salesman was going on about the sales they were having, stain protection etc. We had talked about updating our current furniture with new so we walked all over the store. First checking out the living room furniture, the couches, recliners, coffee tables, lamps etc . Then we ran across these amazing massage chairs that I just had to try out for probably 5 minutes as he stood and waited. Then we made our way to the sectionals and found one we loved. We moved on to the bedroom furniture and laid on this really comfy bed and then we looked at the dining room furniture and then kitchen furniture. I heard the rustling water of an outdoor patio pond so I made my way over and we began talking of how great that would be on our enclosed porch.
Our salesman met up with us in the patio furniture and we began walking and talking. He was asking if we had found something we liked over anything else we had seen in the store. As we were walking, another salesman was walking quickly past and thanked us for shopping with them today and how it was a pleasure to have us in the store. We told our salesman of the sectional we found and we made our way over to it. I sat down on it and Zach sat in the recliner across from it. We began talking of our pets etc and then the sectional. At this time it’s a little after eight. We were batting around on whether we wanted to start with updating the upstairs or downstairs first. So as we sat battling that around, our salesman asked us if we were going to go with that one or not. I asked our very patient salesman if we could talk about it and then get back with him and if we could have his card.
As we’re walking out, I noticed that we were the only people in the store. He then proceeded to unlock the door to let us out. This whole time of us trying out furniture and beds and talking, the store was closed. We laughed so hard. I realized then, exactly how funny my husband still is. I guess you go through this life and things stress you out and you get grumpy and moody. I love him when when he’s like that but I fell in love with his laughter again Monday night. He works many days and many hours and we really don’t have a lot of time together. It was nice to be able to hang out with him ad share in the laughter once again. I never realized how much I missed it. I can’t wait until I get to share in his laughter once again.
