Something like that

We all know the song, most by heart without having to pick up the hymnal to sing it from its pages. Amazing Grace…But have you ever stopped to think about how amazing that Amazing grace is? “For the wages of sin is death.” That very well could have been it for us. But God had a different plan in mind. Where there could have been a period, God added a comma. He said “For the wages of sin are death, But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

As soon as you were born, you had sin in your life. It was brought on by the fall of man in the garden of Eden. Sin separates us from God. But God so loved the world he sent his son. Jesus took our place on the cross so that we wouldn’t have to. Amazing Grace that saved a wretch like me and you. We didn’t earn it and we certainly don’t deserve it, but the Lord gave us grace by saying I forgive you and I’m taking your place and your punishment and all of your sin on the cross.

How Amazing is that grace! Because of that gift of grace that was bestowed upon us, once we accept that free gift, we can go to bed at night knowing that if morning doesn’t fond us, we will be rejoicing in Heaven. We sin daily and will as long as we’re alive. it’s our nature. But God gave us forgiveness as well as grace the day Jesus took the punishment for us. Forgiveness is an amazing action all in itself and goes hand in hand with grace. When you accept Jesus as your personal savior, he forgives your sins of the past, present and future. It’s more than just words on a piece of paper in a book. It’s an action of grace that was given to us, even though we didn’t deserve, out of love by our father in Heaven
